Conditions For Participation - Messer Macher Messe 2009

  1. The Knifemakers’ Show, Solingen is a sales exhibition of artistic and collectors’ knives. Knives and other products manufactured industrially may be neither exhibited nor sold.
  2. Artistic and collectors’ knives are unique items made of high-grade materials and purely by hand.
  3. Admitted to participate are the members of the German Knifemakers’ Guild and guests invited by the guild. Further knifemakers can apply for participation; for this purpose fotos of work are to be enclosed with the registration. The advisory board to the event shall make the decision as to admission.
  4. Four promotion tables for knifemakers shall be awarded free of charge. The application is to be stated on the registration sheet and fotos of work are to be enclosed. The advisory board to the event shall make the decision as to admission.
  5. Every knifemaker shall exhibit solely his/her own products. In the case of group work we request that the names be stated in the registration.
  6. The exhibitors undertake, by signing the registration form, to observe the provisions of the Washington Agreement on the Protection of Species with regard to trading with and sale of ivory, tortoise-shell etc. as well as the ruling provisions of the Arms Act.
  7. The exhibitor shall have access to the exhibition rooms on Saturday and Sunday from 8.30 a.m. It is expected that the tables will be occupied until 6 p.m. on Saturday and 4 p.m. on Sunday.
  8. The organizers reserve the right to exclude those exhibitors from participation in the show whose exhibits do not comply with the above conditions. In this case no claims for the refund of participation fees already paid or for the payment of damages by the organizers may be made.
  9. The organizers shall take out Employers’ Liability Insurance for the period of the knifemakers’ show. All other risks such as accident, theft, third-party liability are to be insured by the exhibitors.
  10. The exhibition rooms in the museum guarantee a high-quality ambiance. It is expected that the presentation of the exhibits comes up to this standard. In particular it is expected that all lettering/marking is done professionally.
  11. All of the rooms in the Blade Museum are non-smoking rooms. Dogs are not admitted to the museum’s rooms.
